Terms of Use
Last updated: August 19, 2026
1. Acceptance
These Terms of Use govern your use of Deskonsole, a Windows desktop application. By installing or using Deskonsole, or by creating an account, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the application.
2. What Deskonsole is
Deskonsole brings your game library together (Steam, Epic Games, and manually added folders and executables) into an interface built to be used with a controller, full screen, on your Windows PC. The app also offers optional community features: friends list, chat, and a store aggregating deals from third parties.
3. Early access
Deskonsole is in Early Access. This means features may change, be removed, or be unstable. Using the app is free and, at this time, we do not sell anything; section 5 describes the terms that will apply if paid features are offered in the future. We do our best to preserve your data and settings across updates, but we cannot guarantee the absence of bugs during this phase.
4. Account and account-free use
You can use Deskonsole's core features (organizing and launching your local game library) without creating an account. In that case, your library and settings stay on your computer only; the sole communication with our infrastructure is the update check. The app also connects to third-party services (the CDNs serving game cover art, for example), and those connections are described in our Privacy Policy. Creating an account is required for the social features (friends, chat, reports) and for the store inside the app, and requires an email and password. The website store (deskonsole.com/loja) is open: anyone can compare prices there with no account and nothing installed.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Contact us at suporte@deskonsole.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
5. Licenses, payment, and withdrawal
We do not sell licenses yet. This section describes the terms that will apply if paid features are offered, so that you know them in advance. In that case, payment will be processed by Stripe: your payment details will be provided directly to it, and we will neither receive nor store them.
The license key is sent to the email given at purchase and is personal and non-transferable. Keep that email: for security reasons the key exists in plain text only there, and we cannot display it again afterwards.
Right of withdrawal. Under article 49 of Brazil's Consumer Protection Code, you may withdraw from the purchase within 7 calendar days of receiving the key and receive a full refund of the amount paid. Just write to suporte@deskonsole.com from the email used for the purchase. The license is cancelled when the refund is issued.
After that window, refund requests are reviewed case by case and remain guaranteed in the situations provided by law; for example, when a paid feature stops working due to a fault on our side and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time.
6. Acceptable use
When using Deskonsole, you agree not to:
- Use the app to violate the terms of service of Steam, Epic Games, or any other platform you connect or import;
- Harass, threaten, or spam other users in chat or social features;
- Attempt to bypass security mechanisms, rate limits, or the app's CAPTCHA;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute the app outside official channels;
- Misuse the reporting feature to harass other users in bad faith.
7. Social features, user content, and moderation
Deskonsole lets you add friends, exchange messages, and report or block other users. Reports are reviewed by our team. Blocking someone prevents direct messages in both directions.
You are responsible for the content you post: messages, display name, bio, avatar, and any other material you upload. By posting, you represent that you have the right to do so and you bear civil and criminal responsibility for the content. Deskonsole does not pre-screen messages and does not endorse what users write.
You may not post content that:
- Constitutes a crime, incites one, or threatens someone;
- Involves child sexual abuse material or any sexual content involving minors;
- Discloses another person's personal data without authorization, or intimate images without consent;
- Infringes copyright, trademark, or any other third-party right;
- Promotes discrimination, hatred, or violence against a person or group;
- Distributes malware, phishing, scams, or malicious links.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, based on reports or other evidence of abuse.
Reporting illegal content. Use the in-app report feature or write to suporte@deskonsole.com, telling us where the content is and why it is unlawful. We review it and remove what is warranted. We comply with court orders for removal and for disclosure of records as provided by law.
We keep access logs (IP address, date, and time) for the 6-month period set out in article 15 of Brazil's Marco Civil da Internet. That is what makes it possible to identify the author of a piece of content when a court orders it.
8. Third-party content and data
Game information, prices, and deals shown in the Deskonsole store, both in the app and on the website, come from third-party sources (such as Steam, IsThereAnyDeal, and RAWG). We do not control those sources and cannot guarantee that prices, availability, or deals are always accurate or up to date. Always confirm on the destination store before purchasing. The purchase happens on the destination store, under its own rules: we are not a party to the sale and do not handle payment, and we may earn an affiliate commission for referring the purchase.
9. Intellectual property
Deskonsole, its brand, and its code are owned by Deskonsole. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable license to install and use the app under these terms. Third-party games, brands, and artwork shown in the app belong to their respective owners.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Deskonsole is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, especially during Early Access. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the app.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Deskonsole evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Continued use after an update means you agree to the new terms.

13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
